The brief for Currant – to cover the final months management of Bunbury Kidsfest 2013 – a festival for families with attendance of over 5,000, the third and final year of the event. This community event targeted the 2-13 year age group and featured hands-on interactive craft and activities for families.
A three day festival held under 2,760 square metres of marquee and hosting 9 family fun zones for children to explore. Each play zone was sponsored by local industry, corporate or government body with relevant sponsorship and signage requirements and acquittal processes.
Children’s activity providers were engaged to entertain in each zone along with professional entertainers and community groups who hosted a variety of healthy and sport focused activities. An outdoor food hall and markets provided the adult patrons with a diversion while the festival theatre marquee hosted a steady stream of Perth and local performers from 9am to 4pm daily.
Bunbury Kidsfest was hosted by the City of Bunbury and keenly supported by local business and community organisations. Eight staff and over sixty volunteers assisted over the three day event and came from all sectors of the community from local service clubs to school students.
Currant Event Management delivered event management, final logistics and reporting, marketing, leadership of staff and volunteers for Bunbury Kidsfest 2013.
Responsibilities post event included acquittal of government grants and delivery of the final festival report with economic returns based on Bunbury Kidsfest survey results.
